Moving office in Delhi NCR involves two buildings, two sets of building rules and one deadline. This checklist focuses on the part that is most often left too late: emptying the old office.
Eight weeks before
- Read the exit clauses in your lease: notice period, handover condition (bare-shell or warm-shell), and restoration obligations.
- Decide what furniture and equipment moves with you.
- Get two or three buyers to visit and quote for what you are not taking.
Four weeks before
- Fix the dismantling date with your buyer, leaving at least one buffer day before handover.
- Ask the building's facility team for goods-movement timings, lift booking and gate-pass procedure.
- Plan IT: back up data, decide which equipment moves, and remove or wipe drives on equipment being sold.
One week before
- Pack and label what is moving; keep it separate from what is being sold.
- Empty all drawers, cupboards and pedestals in furniture being sold. Collect keys.
- Confirm the dismantling team's arrival time, labour count and vehicle numbers with security.
Dismantling day
- Have one person on site who can answer questions and sign the gate pass.
- Receive payment and a written receipt before material leaves.
- Walk the floor with the buyer at the end to confirm everything has been removed and the floor is swept.
Handover
- Photograph the empty office for your records.
- Hand over keys and access cards and get the landlord's acknowledgement.
If your lease requires bare-shell handover, partitions, false ceiling, flooring and electrical fit-out also have to come out. We do this as part of our office dismantling service and buy the reusable material, so the job pays for itself.
